As lecturer, I aim to fascinate students with policy-relevant and research-oriented classes whenever possible. For instance, in the course "Advanced International Economics" at the Master-level, students prepare regularly five to ten minutes discussion inputs based on current news and politics which we then discuss in depth in class applying different trade theories and policies. Further, students prepare presentations and seminar papers based on research articles. In particular at the introductory level, real world examples help students to capture economic theories as well as basic econometrical concepts. To improve student's engagement, I connect the topics being taught to real world examples students can easily relate to. This helps students to understand the topic being taught and stimulate their interest in it and enhances their ability to critically debate. My courses are highly demanded by students and well evaluated.
