A New Perspective

Perspective is harder than I remember. It took a while just to outline this castle scene. Also my sketch book is bigger than my scanner bed so I can only scan parts of what I draw. :(
What I didn't notice until I saw the image uploaded here is that the scanner added shadow. That is good and bad. This time it put the shadow in an appropriate place in the lower parts of the castle which is kind of cool. But if it randomly adds shadow that could make it hard to get a good scan. Maybe I need a new scanner.
A Coloured Sketch

My wife has gotten quite excited about colouring the book. She already coloured my first sketch even though I don't plan to use it. She said that while I practice drawing, she will practice colouring.
I practiced drawing this evening and did some experiments with perspective. I definitely need to get the rust off of my perspective skills. I remember having that down to a mathematical science. Not any more!
