Korean Society for Biomaterials 22nd International Conference and General Assembly 2014

Seoul- South Korea - The Korean Society for Biomaterials 22nd International Conference was held in Seoul on 6 - 7 November 2014. Inviting various biomaterial researchers from Korea and also international, this conference practically become one of the biggest platform for experience and study sharing related to biomaterial researches. In this conference, one of BML member, Rifqi, presented a poster with title "Generation of Conductive Wrinkle Interfaces for Potential Tissue Engineering  Applications" and his poster became one of the best poster presented in the event. Congratulations, Rifqi!

GIST 2014 Summer Commencement Ceremony

Gwangju- South Korea - Congratulations to our first alumni, Yang Sumi!

She is one of the student along 105 others that graduate on this Summer 2014. Finishing her two years study in School of Material Science and Engineering, on August 25th, finally she receives her master degree. Congrats, Sumi!

Workshop Biomimetic Materials Lab. in Gokseong Youth Camp, 9th August 2014, Gokseong, South Korea.

Gokseong, South Korea - Just over a year ago we visited Gokseong for enjoying the awesome rafting experience on Seomjin river. This summer 2014 we come back to taste the thrill once again!

Workshop Biomimetic Materials Lab. in 서바이벌체험장, Jeonju City Facilities, 9th-10th February 2014, Jeonju, South Korea.

Jeonju, South Korea – In this winter vacation, Biomimetic Laboratory Lab. had the workshop activity by engaging in air soft game in air soft facilities at Jeonju World Cup stadium. Two groups were made from the existing lab members to face each other in the airsoft battle. Green team ended up to be the winner with just slightly different point compared to blue team, yet both teams showed a very good teamwork. Study hard, play hard; go Biomimetic Materials Lab!

GIST-NCTU-NAIST International Joint Symposium 2013, 21st-26th November 2013, Nara, Japan

Nara, Japan – The 4th International joint symposium between GIST(South Korea)-NCTU(Taiwan)-NAIST(Japan) was held at NAIST from 21st till 26th November 2013. The collaboration of the tri-institutional had started since 2010. The event featured talks by various researchers from each institutions in the hopes of building strong international collaborations for interdisciplinary research. Topics covered during the presentations were diverse including electronic, energy, and biomaterial.

In this symposium, Prof. Jae Young Lee gave his presentation with title “Electrically Conducting Nanofibres for Neural Tissue Scaffold Application”. In the poster session, Rifqi, as one of the Biomimetic Materials Laboratory (GIST) member, was also presenting poster with title “Tunable Topography of Electrically Conducting Polymer on Thin Elastomeric Substrate”. His study explain the potential application of multiple cues, which are topography and electrical cues, for manipulating cells behaviors.
