Clay Head

The facial expression of this statue is based on a facial expression that I often use, and the facial features are also based off my own. I made the statue balding (I'll credit the inspiration to my father) for a couple of reasons: it's humorous, it serves as a possible explanation for the facial expression, and it's a melancholy foreshadowing of what's inevitable down the road in my own life.

Game of Chance

The story behind this is piece is that it takes place during 1920s prohibition.  He is most likely a political figure, yet involved in the trade of illegal alcohol.  This correlates to the prompt "Game of Chance" because getting involved with this type of man was extremely risky, as murder was a common part of their business. Done in chalk pastel.
