Dulcimer Player

Home Page

Playing at the Deal Landmark Centre as a part of the Deal Songs to the Sea Festival, September 2018. Thanks to Stephen Wakeford for this close-up action photo.

Welcome and many thanks for visiting my website!

For some years I have been happily involved in a range of dulcimer playing, folk music and folk dance activities in East Kent in England.

This site draws together information about these interests.

My gratitude extends to all the people who feature in these pages and those who I may have neglectfully left out.

It has been a great pleasure sharing your music and company and I hope the website records and celebrates this.

Health Warning (to anyone who has not yet encountered one): dulcimers are seriously addictive!

Good Reading! - Bill Howarth

Navigation

There is quite a lot of stuff on this website and I hope that I have set out things as clearly as I can by giving numbers to the pages to help with navigation. The link above (to Introduction and Contents) will take you to the next page, which provides information on the contents of the website, but if you have a particular interest in the different types of dulcimer, hammers, stands or something else, you may wish to go directly to the top of this page to access the particular page that interests you. At the top of this page you will see a black bar. On the right of this you will see a drop down navigation menu (an arrow pointing downwards). Click on this to see the contents at a glance. Note that the heading number 11, Dulcimers and Equipment, has several subheadings which can be seen by clicking the arrow next to this heading.

Not me, but Google Sites have for some reason have placed the drop down navigation menu on the top left of the screen when the website is being viewed using a mobile phone. I am sorry if this is confusing, but the message that follows (and at the bottom of every page) assumes the the user is accessing the website via a desktop or tablet. Phone users will find the same thing on the top left.

For links to other pages, use the drop down navigation menu at the top right of the page.
