I encourage students to obtain their own copies of the texts we read in class just as they would in a college classroom. By having their own personal copies, students can practice a variety of strategies as they annotate the texts we read. I have enough copies of most texts, but there are a few texts that I have limited copies of and some students will need to obtain their own copies. I am listing the texts that we will most likely cover this year (it's an ambitious list) and noting which ones that are limited in quantity (**). The list is not necessarily in order and we may not get to everything on the list. I reserve the right to make changes during the year as the need arises.
English III texts that we will refer to often since everyone was assigned these texts:
Of Mice and Men
The Great Gatsby

Hopefully you are reading something over your summer break. Yes, I am suggesting reading for fun or pleasure. Believe it or not, it does exist. This summer I have read several books including Malibu Rising and Lilac Girls. It's amazing how much you can read sitting on a beach or in an airport! I also enjoyed reading two of Steve Barry's novels. He intertwines something historical into the current day plot line. They are very fast-paced reads.
Happy Reading and I will see you soon!
