Dr. Jyoti Bhabal is working as Asst. Professor at SHPT School of Library Science, SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai for last 21 years. Her subject specialization is in Book Classification, Library Management, Library and Community, Citation Management, Library Services to Children,

She is graduated in Commerce from M. L. Dahanukar College of Commerce from University of Mumbai in 1997. She did her BLISc and MLISc from SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai in 1998, 1999 respectively. She has also done her PhD from SNDT Women’s University

She has presented as well as published papers at national and international level. She has presented papers at the international conference in Amsterdam (2008) and Athens (2014)

She has been invited as Resource Person to deliver a talk or to train participants on various issues of the LIS field. She has taken sessions in the Workshops on citation management, Knowledge Organization, School librarianship, creating Google site, etc.

She teaches a paper on Classification, Fundamentals of LIS, Library management practices and School Librarianship at MLISc level. She is keen in applying current ICT tools in the study and teaching. She was coordinator of ‘Online Certificate Course in School/ Children Librarianship’ of SNDT Women’s University in April-June 2014. She has adopted a blended learning method in her teaching by using Moodle class to teach regular papers.
