BHS PTSO Meeting
May 11, 2021

Call to order, in attendance were Catherine Barrett, Kathy Carnevale, Amy Broadbent, Lauren Erwin, Alex Martell, Principal Taylor, Paula Colahan, Rachael Abell, Marie Mallott, and Ann Gavin.
Welcome
Principal’s Report – Principal Taylor
-Thanked PTSO for senior night and for teacher appreciation breakfast, both were huge successes.
-School starts at full time, full capacity starting May 13th, lunch will be both outside and inside to spread all kids out.
-Internships for seniors went well, only about 98 seniors stayed in classes, all others did some version of internship.
-Rolling rally for seniors to happen on May 12th.
-Elementary clap outs are trying to be scheduled now.
-There will be no junior prom, students did not want to break out into two groups to accommodate covid restrictions.
School Committee Report – Racheal Abell
-School committee meeting tonight, talking prep for reopening and recovery, there’s a public hearing at 6:30 for people to ask questions.
-Currently working with teachers on new 3-year contracts.
President’s Report – Catherine Barrett
-Positions for next year’s PTSO open – Hospitality committee needs to members, Stop and shop program to be run by Sally Hunter. Treasurer is also moving on.
-Lawn sign fundraiser and DDD will happen, social event postponed for now.
F. Vice President’s Report – Tracey Armstrong
G. Treasurer’s Report – Kathy Carnevale
-Current balance is $17,984, still a few expenses to pay out.
Committee Reports
-Hospitality provided a breakfast to BHS faculty & staff. Grab & go breakfast sandwiches from Early Harvest Café, Dunkin Donuts coffee, juice, etc. Great job by all!
-Citywide PTO – Paula Colahan – Elementary schools have been fundraising successfully, mental health of students being discussed.
-BevEd – Catherine – Honor a teacher campaign happening, high school donations are low.
