BESL ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON RACISM.
To all players and officials of the BESL.
Our League like many of the leagues in the greater Montreal area is comprised of players from many diverse backgrounds, creeds, and nationalities.
Many times when our actions or reactions get the better of us, we have a tendency to lose control of our temper.
Anyone who publicly disparages, discriminates against or denigrates someone in a defamatory manner on account of race, colour, language, religion or ethnic origin will be subject to a match suspension for a minimum of ten (10) games.
Prior to returning to play any game, the player must appear before the committee to explain their actions.
Athough, a personal apology is not required, it is the opinion of the committee that the individual should make an attempt in order to appease the situation.
Please take note that it is the obligation of the officials of this league to determine if anyone has committed, not only this offense, but any offense.
It is also the obligation of the team captains to inform the official if such an offense has been committed.
Please note that 'Racism' has no place in this League.
