Welcome to my Website! I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of  Health Policy & Management at Texas A&M.

My research studies how changes in public and private insurance programs, including federal health care reform and state policies, affect health insurance enrollment, access to care, and health. I also study institutions in the healthcare market, such as hospitals and emergency departments, and how they treat and affect patients’ health. My work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Health Economics, American Journal of Health Economics, JAMA Network Open, Health Affairs, and Health Services Research. I have published more than forty peer-reviewed journal articles, two book chapters, and seven policy briefs. My research is commonly funded and I received external funding from entities such as the National Institute of Health, American Cancer Society, Episcopal Health Foundation, and the State of Texas. Overall, I served on research projects worth more than $9 million dollars, including nine projects as PI or Co-PI.
