Profile
Welcome to my site.
I am a behavioral economist interested in consumer behavior, financial decision making and competition policy. I currently work as a principal researcher at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Research Academy.
From 2016 to 2024, I served as Director for Economics at the Philippine Competition Commission. I am a part-time lecturer at the Ateneo de Manila University. Earlier, I was a consultant in various regional departments at the Asian Development Bank, and worked in commercial banks as economist and as project manager (six sigma black belt).
I obtained my PhD (Economics) from the University of East Anglia where I studied the role of problem similarity in decision making under the supervision of Robert Sugden and Theodore Turocy. I also completed graduate economics programs at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, and University of the Philippines.
