NCSLMA - 10/6/2011 - 10/8/2011, 10/2013: Leading From the Library. Karen and Kathy presented "Using their mobile device participants explored various websites that allowed them to customize how they provide resources for research. Content included 10+ unique search engines, a look at 40+ FAKE websites to explain evaluation, plagiarism checking sites, and of course citation options. Apps for multiple devices included."

NCTies - 3/7/2012 - 3/9/2012, 3/7/2013: The Brain, Exercise, Gaming and Webtools and Gaming - The initial portion of the session covered cognitive learning, the brain and exercise and their effects on learning. Secondly exploration of the GENZ Gaming site and review of Educational Gaming by looking at a few infographics and games in the different categories: Action/Adventure, Games of Battle, Building Games, Role Playing, Interactive Games of Sport, Game Templates, Puzzle Games, Strategy Games, as well as providing resources in Symbaloo, Scoopit, and more.

Collaborative Conference for Student Achievement: 2012 and 3/27/2013:Globalizing GenZ Through Social Media and Web Tools. Kathy and Karen presented a hands-on session exploring web tools aligned with Blooms Digital Taxonomy, connecting Common Core, ISTE/NETS standards and research skills. Showcasing collaboration tools for 21st century global student competence. Benefits to educators would be understanding these connections and exposure to web tools and strategies to integrate into instructions. Goals: Supporting 21st century professionals to create a culture of high expectations. Supporting academic growth for all students. Engaging community stakeholders in transforming education in North Carolina to prepare globally competitive students for the 21st century. Developing healthy and responsible citizens.
