The garbage pick up schedule will be changing from a 3x a week schedule to a 2x a week schedule effective immediately. Per discussions at the AGM it was noted that the bins were being dumped less than half full normally and after some monitoring it was decided to cut down the pick up schedule. This will not effect the recycling pick up which remains at once per week though we recently got additional containers.
This will save the Strata approximately $3000 a year and it should be noted that this change came from a suggestion from a owner at large prior to the AGM when council had requested ideas for the AGM. To put this into perspective, this savings represents almost 3% of the yearly budget or a deck resurfacing or 25% of the yearly add to the AGM. Point being, these kind of efficiency gains and costs saving add up.
