This page and the Bayes Nordics Google group were created to allow anyone interested in Bayesian analysis to get informed of events happening in the European Nordic countries.
Although there are many ways to find out of major statistical events scattered around the world (say via the ALLSTAT list, twitter etc), it is not rare that some interesting seminar/course, job ads etc set somewhere "around the corner" may pass unnoticed.
The very positive experience of the Bayes@Lund email-list set in Lund (Sweden) triggered the creation of Bayes Nordics, established and administered by Umberto Picchini since October 2016.Â
Notice this is a "curated list" with zero-noise, so please read the recommendations below.
With "curated" we mean that:
the list is moderated: the administrator will manually approve the submitted messages before these are sent to the list members (this is to avoid too insistent "reminders" of whatever event the poster wants to inform about, or messages that are outside the scope of this list).
Anyone from anywhere in the world can subscribe, but we try to keep the messages focused to the Nordic countries, eg events/jobs etc that pertain the Nordics.
The list is not a forum for discussions, Q&A, homework or general questions of statistical nature. There are more suitable sites for those purposes.
Similarly, this is not the place to publicize your paper or software package, unless you organize a seminar/zoom event/meetup/workshop about it, then by any mean feel free to post about it!
The easiest is to give a look at the already published messages, to have an idea of the list purpose.
JOIN THE LIST! (you should be able to use any email address)
