Morganne Kraines, Ph.D.

Morganne Kraines is an Assistant Professor (Research) at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University and was the first graduate student to join the BAT lab. Originally from Arlington, Massachusetts, she received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Colby College in 2011, her MS in clinical psychology from Oklahoma State University (OSU) in 2015, and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from OSU in 2019. Dr. Kraines completed her residency (clinical internship) and postdoctoral fellowship at Brown. She completed an F32 NRSA grant from NIH developing novel, behavioral assessments for mindfulness and continues her work in mindfulness on a K23 grant from NCCIH. Her research focuses on methods and mechanisms of mindfulness-based treatments for mood disorders. 

Lucas Kelberer, Ph.D.

Luke Kelberer is a staff psychologist at the Kansas City VA Medical Center. He grew up in Arden Hills, Minnesota, and received his Bachelor of Sciences in psychology with a minor in neuroscience from Drake University in 2014, his MS in clinical psychology from OSU in 2016, and his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from OSU in 2020. Dr. Kelberer is interested in researching factors that contribute to resilience of major depressive disorder (e.g., hope, optimism, flourishing), as well as assessing the efficacy of novel treatments for MDD (such as cognitive bias modification). 

Cassandra Krug, Ph.D.

Cassy Krug is a staff psychologist at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Colorado Springs. She joined the BAT lab as an undergraduate research assistant in January of 2014, received her Bachelor of Science in psychology from OSU in May of 2015, MS in clinical psychology in 2018, and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 2021Dr. Krug's research interests include interpersonal factors involved in the development and maintenance of depression as well as the role of irritability and anger in depression. 

Meghan Hills, M.S.

Meghan Hills is the Assistant Team Lead for a FACT (flexible assertive community treatment) team that provides field-based comprehensive mental health care including therapy, case management, nursing, and peer support for individuals with serious mental illness and histories of repeated hospitalizations. She joined the BAT lab as an undergraduate research assistant in August 2013, received her Bachelor of Science in psychology with a minor in statistics from OSU in December of 2014, and graduated with her MS in clinical psychology from OSU in 2019. Her primary research interests include emotion regulation, rumination, and the development of easily accessible treatments for depression.
