Bio:
Michael Bates is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of California at Riverside. He earned his PhD in Economics from Michigan State University in 2015, where he studied labor economics, econometrics, and the economics of education. Before seeking his doctorate he taught middle school in Chicago, IL and Lansing, MI, initially with Teach for America.
