Vacation rental with heated pool and private SPA in Luberon - Provence - France
Welcome to our new holiday cottages at 'La Bastide des Grandes Terres' in the Vaucluse region between Avignon and Aix en Provence !
The cottages are situated in a quiet area, but only a kilometre away from the centre of Mérindol, a charming village with all local amenities in the heart of Provence (5 restaurants, 3 bakeries...).
The village is ideally located in Luberon’s regional natural park and is close to several other villages and recognised natural sites. It is also less than an hour away from the Mediterranean Coast.
Set within large enclosed grounds (6600 m²), the cottages lie at the foot of the hill ‘le petit Luberon’, which overlooks the Durance river and Pont Royal golf course. The gardens boast many Mediterranean plants – olive and cypress trees as well as vines, oleanders and lavender.
The gîtes are part of a shared property : the gîte Luberon is the building on the right as you view the pictures and the gîte Alpilles is on the left.
The 100 m² cottages can accommodate 5-7 guests and includes :
- a bright and airy conservatory with Jacuzzi (hot tub whirlpool)
- a large living space including kitchen, dining and living areas with a comfortable double sofa bed and fireplace to keep you warm on those cooler evenings in winter
- one bedroom with double bed
- second bedroom with three single beds
- bathroom with twin sinks, bath and shower
- large vine-shaded terrace
- gated access to the property and carport
To make your stay enjoyable, the cottage is equipped with the following new, quality appliances :
- private SPA for 5 people with water heated to 37°C (hot tub)
- flat screen television with DVD/DivX player (HD sat TV : CNBC, Sky News, BBC WN, CNN, Bloomberg...)

- 40 minutes from the high speed train (TGV) stations of Avignon and Aix en Provence
- 40 minutes from the Marseille Provence MP2 Airport
It is possible to arrange a pick up from the Aix en Provence or Avignon TGV stations and from Marseille Airport.

"This rural property is located at the edge of the Luberon mountain range within easy walking distance of the village of Merindol. We spent many hours exploring both the village and the surrounding National Park. Our spacious, modern, self-contained villa was well appointed, in excellent condition and generously supplied with kitchen equipment. The villa has it's own spa room. The grounds have a fenced swimming pool, children's playground and beautifully maintained gardens. Our hosts went out of their way to provide baby equipment for our ten -month old grandson and to provide us with any information we needed about local markets, restaurants and towns, including some of the most picturesque in Provence.We loved our time here and would have happily extended it." "We stayed here with our two children aged 9 and 7 This is an fantastic, beautifully stylish location, ideal for families with children. It has a large garden, two trampolines, sand pit ,swings aswell as the pool and great walks nearby. ( Gorges de Regalon less than 5 minutes away)

"We have just returned from 10 nights in this wonderful villa. It was just as described: a very clean modern little house with everything you need, inside and out. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking and eating which we did every night. As we were with our two young children, we were happy to use the high chair, baby cot and plastic dishes provided, and even the safety gate for the stairs! It's so nice that they put thought into those small things which really improved our stay with the children. We used the spa and huge new trampoline almost everyday - our son couldn't get enough of them and the slide and swing were a big hit with our little daughter. We even had enough warm weather to use the pool twice. Arnaud and Dorothee are wonderful hosts who really try to make their guests feel at home, providing local wine and olive oil when we got there. Arnaud was interested in what we wanted to do and gave us very good advice, including printing out a schedule for some bullfighting events that were going on in Saint-Remy and leaving it out for us on the windshield of our car. He is really so friendly and helpful.

"The perfect place to stay in Provence ! We spent a week at Arnaud and Dorothee's place in Merindol in September 2012 and had the best of time. The place is lovely, newly renovated, clean and perfectly furnished. We already booked for 2013, its a gem! Luberon is probably one of the loveliest places in Provence, and the house is well situation between avignon/Marseille and its airport/ Arles / Baux de Provence etc... "Very charming Chalet located on great, fenced site with well cared garden full of flowers. Our small children (two < 4 years) loved to freely run around, use the playground and the trampolines. With the fenced swimming pool, the parents could keep cool and lazy when the kids had real good fun. Very nice landlord family that lives in the main building on the site.
