2014-2015
Role: Research Fellow
The role assigned to me in this project aims to propose an algorithm for the future wireless networks radio resources management. The algorithm performance in terms of cell throughput and fairness was evaluated by using simulators based on Matlab. I have published a conference paper titled ‘An Adaptive Hybrid Scheduling Algorithm for LTE-Advanced’ in IEEE ICT .
2013-2014
Role: MSc student
Achieved grade “Distinction” and awarded as Best MSc Project
The Aim of this project is to increase the energy efficiency of mobile networks without decreasing the quality of service (QoS) of the mobile networks. The system module that was used is an LTE-A downlink with strict QoS requirements. The carrier aggregation technology and the effect of variant users’ density and cell radius size on the power of transmission were investigated; the project was based on quantitative analysis and the results and graphs were plotted using Matlab. The work had been summarised and accepted in IEEE 8th GCC conference paper named ‘Energy efficient Carrier aggregation for LTE-Advanced’.
2012-2013
Role: BSc/BEng student
Achieved grade “A”
Aim of project is to designed a low cost (PSTN /VoIP) Gateway for small and medium sized companies that have branches around the world. This device was connected to PSTN line, a telephone set and internet line. The designed device uses a regular analog phone to make calls either through VoIP or PSTN lines. A Raspberry Pi minicomputer was used to manage the internet connection and all the necessary software requirements (e.g. G.711 and G.729A audio codecs). The server and clients used Linux OS with (DYDNS) and (SIP) protocols.
