History

Balumbato Elementary School came into existence last June 1960. It got its name from the name of the Barangay where it is situated. It started as an annex of Bonifacio Memorial Elementary School.

During its first year, three rented buildings were used. Two were leased by Mr. Aquino at his compound, hence the name Aquino Compound site. Another building is found at the Salazar Compound, leased also by Mr. Salazar. There were around five hundred pupils during its early years before the acquisition of its own lot.

In 1983, Mr. Juan P. Juan sold a 5,182 sq m. lot to the Quezon City government, which is now the present lot of Balumbato Elementary School. At the same year rose two buildings, the two-storey, ten-room Marcos type building, and the one-storey, three-room Imelda type building, housing around a thousand pupils and fifteen teachers. Since then on, the number of clientele rose to around 2,800 during the time of Mrs. Petronila Garcia in 1986.

In 1990, squatters around the area were relocated, bringing about a decrease in enrollment, which until this day, is still being felt. The first batch of graduates came last 1966, and the 51st batch will be this April 2016.

Order of succession of leadership in this school is as follows: Mrs. Dela Rosa, Mrs. Avelina Ledesma, Mr. Victoriano Silvestre, Mrs. Florentina Punzalan, Mr. Daniel Zamora, Mrs. Petronila G. Garcia, Mrs. Adelaida Acio, Mrs. Milagros Pelismino, Mrs. Edelmira Barber, Mrs. Lilia A. Galvez, Mrs. Nancy R. Ebardaloza, Mrs. Wilma C. Obras, Mrs. Delia C. Sibulo, Mrs. Robelina V.
