We are a single molecule biophysics laboratory at the Physics Department of Kent State University. We study biological systems using high resolution fluorescence microscopy methods at the single molecule level. In particular, we are interested in studying DNA/RNA structures and DNA-protein interactions. Another aspect of our research is developing new methods to facilitate the study of such biological systems. Our research projects are at the interface of physics, biology, and chemistry and we collaborate with researchers from these disciplines.
