Hi! My Name is Bakhos Fares (a.k.a. Peter or Fazee).
I am married and a father of two. I currently live and work in Bunbury (in Western Australia).
I completed a Bachelor of Science (Software Engineering - B39) at Edith Cowan University and graduated at the end of the 2006. During my time at the University, I occupied various roles in ICT listed in my resume below.
I have worked for the Department of Health since August of 2007.
I am currently the Operations Coordinator (i.e. Team Leader) for a team of 12 that comprises: 6 Helpdesk officers, 3 Field Support (second level) and 3 Senior ICT Officers.

ICT work history, since I have lived in Bunbury
August 2014 - Present
I acted in this role on several occasions during my time with WA Country Health, and have continually occupied it since August 2014
Main duty for this role is to prioritise and delegates Infrastructure and Operational ICT support tasks; and establish change controls for managing implementation of new or upgraded information systems.
On a monthly basis, I collect data of support tickets from Helpdesk and Systems Administrators. Produce reports and meet with the team to discuss potential improvements to reduce the number of support calls and enhance the overall service delivery.
WACHS is a large environment that spreads across 7 WA regions and employs approximately 60 ICT officers.
In this role, I line manage a team of 12 ICT Officers and work with 7 WACHS regional ICT Managers.
Other duties to note:
February 2009 - August 2014
Second and third level support and administration for Windows (desktop and server) and some Unix based Systems including Database Systems.
Build, install and maintain Operating Systems and a Application Software on servers.
Organisation’s assets management of various hardware and software.
Research and propose new systems; as well as maintaining warranty services.
Plan and execute small, average and large scale projects.
Prepare and maintain information systems documentation.
Occasional undertaking of telecommunication related duties.
Assist in training new staff members and occasional clients training sessions.
Highlights:
During my 6 months secondment to the Pilbara; I planned and revamped Nikol Bay Hospital's central communications room.
Work involved ordering, configuring and installing network and server infrastructure hardware and software.
I stayed within budget by negotiating with various vendors and cabling providers and ensured tests and warranty certificates were obtained by the end of the project.
I produced detailed documentation, diagrams and reports for the work undertaken and submitted it to the Executives in charge of the wider project.
August 2007 - February 2009
First and occasional second level support for a large user base.
Provide technical support to telephone and email requests from users for all hardware, software and associated peripherals.
Escalate support requests to the second level support team.
Periodical remote site visits.
Professional development and training for new ICT staff.
Acted as System Information Officer (second level support) for nearly half my time as a help desk officer.
Highlights:
-Developed automated utilities that assist all the team members during a busy migration from NT based servers to Active Directory.
May 2005 - July 2007
Participated in diagnostic and repair procedures.
Ordering computer parts. Building and deploying full ICT solutions systems.
Configured wired and wireless networks; for home users and small businesses. Including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and Linux servers.
Developed small scale databases, spreadsheets, forms, and ebrochures. E.g. designed the company’s task logging system.
Provided basic to extensive training for different a variety (novice and competent) of users.
Highlights: Configured a LAN/WAN for a local business (Aussie property group; Eaton) which consisted of DLINK units, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP server; Exchange and Linux (web and proxy) server. In addition to a network multifunction device for printing and scanning over the LAN.
Subsequently worked on various spreadsheets and Access databases requested by the business for their data collection and reporting needs.
Feb 2003 - May 2005
Provided customer advice, sales and support to mobile phones connected to the Telstra network.
Other duties included ordering, sales and repairs of various electronic equipments.
Highlights:
I am currently overseas on annual leave. I am unable to answer phone calls, only emails.
