Welcome to Back Country Square Dance Association!

Looking for a unique, joyful, and healthy hobby that will introduce you to a welcoming community in San Diego's East County? Look no further! The Back Country Square Dance Association, proud member of the California Council of Square Dancers, is here to twirl you into the heart of the square dance world. Our two clubs are Valley Twirlers and Rusty Hinge.

Our Mission

The Valley Twirlers Square Dance Club is where the magic of square dancing comes to life. (Rusty Hinge is currently on hiatus.) Whether you're a seasoned dancer or have taken some square dance classes, there's a place for you on our dance floor. We dance every Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for floor-level class; 8 to 8:45 for Plus-level. Our talented caller, Steve Moore, will guide you through the steps, making sure you have a blast while you learn. As seen in My El Cajon magazine!
