Research

My research work is focused towards using Data Mining and Machine Learning techniques for solving challenging problems in the field of text classification and bioinformatics, typically involving large-scale datasets (aka big data problem). In particular, I've worked on Hierarchical Classification and Multi-Task Learning for my PhD and MS dissertation, respectively. I also have immense interest in Data Mining applications in the field of social networks, recommender system, search engines, medical imaging and the list goes on. Previously, I've also worked on designing a novel clustering algorithm which can overcome some of the drawbacks associated with existing clustering algorithms.
