My name is Alex Viguerie. I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. Prior to UniUrb, I spent three years as a research scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia (USA).
I completed my PhD in Applied Mathematics at Emory University under the supervision of Alessandro Veneziani (Emory University) in April 2018. From 2018-2020 I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pavia working with the Computational Mechanics and Advanced Materials Group. From 2020-2021 I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Gran Sasso Science Institute.
I am a cofounder of the healthcare technology company Covanos, and a co-developer of several core technologies and a co-author on two patents.
Since, 2023, I have served on the advisory board for the Italian Mathematical Union's activity group on Socio-epidemiological Modeling Group (MSE).
I grew up in the Atlanta area, and am a proud alumnus of the Cottage School (class of '09), a small private school in Roswell, Georgia, specializing in the education of students with special learning needs.
