Bio

I have been an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT M) since October 2017. Before that I was a postdoctoral research associate at the Coordinated Science Laboratory of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I obtained Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2015 from The University of Texas at Austin , Master of Engineering in Telecommunication from Electrical Communication Engineering department of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2008, and Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata (India) in 2006. I worked as a member of technical staff at Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs, India from 2008 to 2011.

Research Interest

My research interest lies in the mathematical study of stochastic networks and information systems with applications in social networks, crowdsourcing systems, communication (classical and quantum) networks and noisy computation. These apparently diverse application areas are closely connected by a few common threads: stochasticity, network, and resource and information constraints.
