Dear all,
* This is to inform you that the interface for Re-tagging of relevant
courses has been released on IITB's Academic & Administrative Portal
* The link can be found under Academic -> Change of Tag on the left side
of the screen found after opening up the above said link.
* The courses which have been re-tagged during the opportunity given
during the autumn semester 2010-2011 have been debarred from the
re-tagging process this time.
* Re-tagging will be available to students ONLY TWICE in their entire
tenure, first time before placements and second time post curriculum
completion.
Apart from the usual tags C (Core), D (Department) and I (Institute), a
course in the new curriculum is proposed to have the following tags.
(i) Additional Learning Minors - M
(ii) Additional Learning Honours - O/ E (Honours core/ elective)
(iii) Additional Learning Others - T
An approved change of tag will result in fresh calculation of SPI/ CPI
from the semester the tag change has been made effective due to the fact
that additional learning course(s) do NOT constitute the core SPI/ CPI of
a student.
This interface to students is currently made available only to the 2008
B.Tech and 2007 DD students (passing out batches) and will be available
till midnight of Aug 16, 2011.
Rules governing the change of tag:
---------------------------------------------
tag code tag description changeable-to
T Additional Learning {D,I,O,E}
C Core Course
D Departmental Elective {O,T,E}
O Honours Course {D,E,T}
E Honours Elective {D,O,T}
H Humanities Elective {T}
I Institute Elective {T}
M Minor Course {I,T}
The procedure to be followed by a student to avail of this facility is:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
(i) Fill in the application on the interface on http://asc.iitb.ac.in
(ii) This application needs to be approved by the Faculty Advisor of the
student, the Head of the Department and the Dean Academic Program
(iii) This form duly signed by student's Faculty Advisor/ Head of the
Department needs to be submitted in Dean Academic Program office till 17th
Aug, 2011 during office hours.
