History

1959: The Broadmeadows assembly plant opened in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. Production of the1959 Custom 300 and Fairlane 500 4 door sedans commenced, these models based on the North American 1959 vehicle style, but in RHD format.
1960: Continued production of 1959 model and introduction of 1960 model (based on 1959 body). Small qty US full sized model variants imported.
1961: Continued production of 1960 model and introduction of 1961 model (based on 1959 body). Small qty US full sized model variants imported.
1962: Continued production of 1961 model. Introduction of CKD production of 1962 model US Fairlane in Homebush, Sydney. Small qty 1962 US full sized model variants imported.
1963: CKD assembly of 1964 model US Fairlane, Small qty 1963 US full sized model variants imported.
1964: Small qty 1964 US full sized model variants imported.Local CKD assembly of 1965 model CKD Galaxie 500 sedan commences in Homebush. 6 vehicles assembled
1965: Assembly of 1965 model continues - 1308 vehicles assembled.    
1966: Assembly of 1965 model continues - 102 vehicles assembled. Assembly of 1966 model begins - 574 vehicles assembled
1967: Assembly of 1966 model continues - 248 vehicles assembled. Assembly of 1967 model begins - 196 cars assembled
1968: Assembly of 1968 model - 696 vehicles assembled. CKD assembly of Galaxie 500 sedans ceases.
1969: Conversion of 1969 Galaxie LTD sedan begins in Broadmeadows, Melbourne - 20 vehicles.
1970: Conversion of 1969 model continues -164 vehicles. Conversion of 1970 model begins - 141 vehicles.
1971: Conversion of 1970 model continues - 481 vehicles. Conversion of 1971 model begins - 331 vehicles.
1972: Conversion of 1971 model continues - 197 vehicles. Conversion of 1972 model begins - 400 vehicles.
1973: Conversion of 1972 model continues - 32 vehicles. Last model of RHD Galaxie LTD sedans.
