A List of Bands I Have Been In
A List of Bands I Have Been In
This list only includes bands that I gigged with and not those that never got out of the basement or practice space.
Onyx
Formed in 1985. I played bass with this band. So named a full three years before the Hip Hop group of the same name. We played mostly covers but did perform a few originals written by myself and Charles Iliff. We played one party and only had a couple of venue gigs, both at The Corinthian Restaurant. We were featured on an Oxford, Ohio radio contest which we did not win but one of my songs was played on the air. By that time we had changed our name to The Solution.
Crossword Smile
This band was either before or just after Onyx/The Solution. I was brought in to play percussion and add stage presence to the band. Most of our gigs were at Sudsy Malone's. I played a set of roto toms and danced around.
The Seventh Seal
The earliest version of this band, formed in or about 1986 was my favorite to date. It was a mixture between the Cure and Rush. The first run lasted till the early 90's. In 1988, we added Chris Dunnett on guitar which turned the sound into a more progressive metal feel. We came back as Bloodseal in 2006 with a different drummer.
Bludstone
A full history of Bludstone can be found here.
The Sissies
There were actually two bands localky named the Sissies. This was the second to have the name. I believe. I played guitar for one show at the Vestry House
The Green Room
I played one gig on bass with this band at Corey's. I liked their music a lot.
The Sinners
I played at least two shows on bass with The Sinners, maybe more. One was at the Northside Tavern and one was at the Southgate house.
Clause 83
This band was active from 2008 to 2010. I contributed quite a bit of material.
Bloodseal
A resurrection of the Seventh Seal. Because there were so many bands with that name, and because we brought Bludstone's drummer on board, we decided to change our name.
The Morbids
Back in 2011 their bass player had to leave due to health issues. I came in and played bass for a couple or three gigs with them.
Twisted Land
Short lived project in with I just sang lead vocals. We had one gig at Baba Budan's.
Bar Crud
Another short live band with me on lead vocals. We had one gig at The Rake's End.
Daddy Luther and the Warrior Poets
Described by Luthor himself as avantard country noise, this band, in which I played drums and various found sound percussion, started in 2010 and lasted for quite a few years. We played a lot of shows, including a number of cool out of town gigs.
Idiot Heathens
I played one show, on keyboard of all things, at The Rake's End with them.
Mojo Komodo
This band was a fun mix of quirky psychedelic rock and other genres. It was active from 2010 to 2012. And played a handful of local shows and at least one in Louisville.
Stone Komodo
Stone Komodo was kind of a version of Bludstone that played on show at a place called The Shed which was more of a party place than an official venue.
Saint Pickle
The roots of this psychobilly band began in Sept 2014. Saint Pickle played for a few years locally and had some out of town shows.
The Tallywhackers
Myself and the bass player from Saint Pickle formed this band after that band was caput.
Magna Fly
See the Magna Fly page.
Suite #9
This was a cover band that I played bass in during the mid 2000s.
M42
A cover band that I have played bass in occasionally. The earliest gig with then was 2005. You can find them here on Facebook.
Red Hot Roosters
Had breif stint on bass with this band. I played two shows and on gig on the City Nights TV Show with them.
Country Thunder
Amazingly enough, I did indeed join this country band on bass for a short while. I think I played three gigs with them. Country Thunder on Facebook.
Archer
Current. Archer plays both covers and originals. Archer on Facebook.
