If anyone is interested, I have been having my car detailed by a young man, Gerald Lewis, since Katrina. He comes to my unit every other week usually on Saturday morning @ 8:30 am. Some of you have seen him washing my car. He also regularly details the car of another AT owner on the same day he does mine, and has detailed the cars of at least 4 or 5 other AT owners on an occasional basis, including my neighbors at Unit 603. He charges $25 for a car, $30 for a truck or SUV, cash only.
He is usually finished in an hour (he does not vacuum the inside but does clean windows and floor mats, wipes down the interior, and details the tires and rims). He is polite, personable, and dependable, and will come even in very cold weather; he does a good job on the cleaning and does not charge much more than the "Safari" type car washes with the mechanical brushes (that can, over time, damage the finish). He brings his own cleaning supplies; you supply only the water. He does not require any type of "contract" or agreement. I recommend Gerald. He can be reached on his cell phone at (504) 339-4563.
