Purpose:

This award was established to promote the research and development of Mechanical Computer-Aided Engineering (MCAE) software in the areas of mechanical multibody design synthesis and analysis.

Awards:

One award was given biennially with a cash value of $1000.

Qualifications of Awardees:

  • Must present a paper concerning large-displacement nonlinear kinematics or dynamics of mechanisms.

  • Must have quantitative computational results supporting paper.

  • Must not be a principal stockholder in a commercial software company.

Paper Evaluation Guidelines:

  • Originality, generality and contribution to the state of the art in MCAE technology pertaining to mechanism analysis.

  • Excellence in theoretical and computational underpinning.

  • Clarity and conciseness of presentation.

  • Algorithm completeness.

  • Preference will be given to any paper which presents commercially-feasible techniques
