Rana Asif Rehman (Senior Member, IEEE) received the M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan, in 2010, the M.S. degree in Computer Science from the International Islamic University, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2012, and the Ph.D. degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering from Hongik University, South Korea, in 2016, under the supervision of Prof. Byung-Seo Kim. He commenced his academic career in 2013 as a Lecturer at the University of Sargodha, Lahore Campus, Pakistan. From July 2016 to August 2021, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at FAST–NUCES, Chiniot–Faisalabad Campus, Pakistan. He subsequently joined FAST–NUCES, Lahore Campus, as an Assistant Professor from September 2021 to June 2022, and later served as an Associate Professor at the FAST School of Computing from July 2022 to August 2025. Dr. Rana is currently serving as a Senior Lecturer of Cybersecurity in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Muscat University, Oman. His research interests include Cybersecurity for wireless and next-generation networks, secure and energy-efficient routing protocols, cross-layer security architectures, intrusion detection and prevention mechanisms, secure caching and forwarding strategies, privacy preservation in cognitive radio and ad hoc networks, and security frameworks for named data networking–based wireless systems. He is a member of the Korean Society for Internet Information (KSII), the IEEE Computer Society, the IEEE Communications Society, the IEEE Signal Processing Society, and IEEE Young Professionals. In addition, he holds professional certifications as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
