Ashraf Y. Mahgoub

I am a graduate Research Assistant and a PhD candidate at the department of Computer Science, Purdue University. I work in DCSL lab and I am advised by Professor Saurabh Bagchi and Professor Ananth Grama. My research interests include optimizing performance and cost for cloud-hosted systems. During my PhD, I worked on several research projects that target optimizing the performance and cost for two emerging technologies: NoSQL datastores and Serverlss workflows.

In my MS thesis, I participated in several Natural Language Processing projects for Arabic Language.

Education:

  • MS degree from Cairo University - Faculty of engineering - Computer Science Department in December 2015. Under the Supervision of Prof. Magda Fayek and Prof. Mohsen Rashwan.

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree from Cairo University - Faculty of engineering - Computer Science Department in May 2011 (Excellence with Honors).
