Jim Warren
8th December 1932 to 26th February 2021
Remembered by his Police bowling friends
John & Carol Halsey
Wicked for the virus to take Jim, Gentleman Jim as I called him. Will miss him loads. Bowls seems strangely inconsequential in the big scheme of things.
Graham Rain
He was one of those guys that you felt that you had known for ever. Always welcoming and friendly, absolutely no side to him. Everyone was equal and entitled to his attention and help. What a super guy Jim was.
Dave Boseley
I remember him from a long time ago, not long after I started bowling. It was always a pleasure to bowl with or against him. I knew I was in for a good afternoon.
Nigel Cox
Very sad indeed. I was crewed with him when I was moved to traffic in 1971. If you are in touch with his family please pass on my condolences.
Paul Aldus
A true gentleman who will be greatly missed. As you say, always the stalwart. He was even due to take on the role of vice-captain at St. Andrews this season. Characters, such as Jim, leave a hole. In normal times the event to mark his passing would have been packed. Many happy memories though.
Bryan and Sue Brice
Jim will be missed as one of the Bowls stalwarts!
Paul Wilfan
I feel exactly the same as you, the last time I spoke to Jim, he sounded so upbeat, he was making some more rock cakes and scones. He made me laugh, because he said that the last batch that he had done tasted lovely but looked nothing like the ones Val used to make.
Colin and Mollie Gay
Our thoughts are with you at the loss of a long-time friend - also with Jim's family
Eric Shackleford

Les Kelly
Sad News, I think Jim is the first bowling casualty that I have heard of, hope there aren’t any more.
Bob and Sandra Dickie
Sad news indeed, nice chap undoubtedly will be missed by many. Please pass on our condolences to the family.
Ian Lamb
My sincere condolences, Jim will, I am sure, be sorely missed by all who knew him. Please pass on my thoughts to his family.
Chris and Di Mitchell
He was such a nice man.
Jeff Bromage
Very sad news indeed. I have known Jim for many years, whilst serving at Weston and of course through bowls both at club level and the occasions when he came on the tour. Jim was simply a very nice man who will be very much missed by all that knew him.
