Prof. Abdel-Moneim's research is focused on molecular characterization and genotyping of important viral infection in man and animals. Understanding of pathogens-host interaction is another research priority for Prof. Abdel-Moneim.
For this purpose, the researches of Prof Abdel-Moneim focuses on HCV and human and animal respiratory viruses; orthomyxoviruses (influenzaviruses), paramyxoviruses (Newcastle disease virus and respiratory syncytial virus), bocaviruses and poxvirus using recent molecular virological, immunological techniques.
