Imagine learning to read by first being handed Shakespeare. If no other system of education existed, reading too would certainly be an ability relegated to a naturally talented people. Because it has been broken down into the basics, reading is an ability, which can be acquired by one and all. By first learning the alphabet, then building upon that foundation, one day we're ready for Shakespeare.
