Tenth Week: Students writing about their experience with
Art No Boundaries for the past three years.
VAUGHAN JOHNSON
The Clowns Way of Thinking
For three years I have been doing art. In second grade I was really excited that we were going to have art classes with Anton. Before art, if you asked me to draw, I would give the drawing to you looking terrible.
My favorite thing to do in art is abstract. You get to put everything that you have in mind on paper. The good thing is that we do not have any boundaries in art. That is why it is called Art No Boundaries. In art when we write about paining, we read it out loud, we all have different ideas. There is no wrong answer in art. Anton is the best art teacher I have had. He always encourages us to believe that our art is perfect. He also tells stories that give me great ideas.
My experience in art this year was the best. We got to use pallet knives that put texture in the painting. We got to use canvases and painted on bigger spaces. I love art, Anton is the best, and I will never forget him.

Out of all the programs in The Milestone School, “Art NO Boundaries” is one of my favorites. I came here in 3rd grade, and didn’t know there was an art program. One day our class walked across the street to the Studio. Every 3rd grader had a pencil and notebook in their hands. It was at the Studio that I met Anton. The first day of art, we just wrote about some things and read it to the class. Soon art class was over and I was really upset! Then the following Tuesday we came back! I was stoaked to find out we had art every Tuesday! Soon we started painting with brushes of all kinds. At first we did abstract. It is my favorite kind of art because you just let your brush take you wherever it wants. Sometimes when we paint, Anton puts on some jazz music. It’s really nice to hear when you’re painting.
Art was a different experience in 4th grade. The first day we wrote again, but the second week we started sketching and then we painted the sketches. We learned how to use charcoal and we had so much fun with it. My favorite part was definitely painting on a canvas! It’s so exhilarating! We also learned how to use pallet knives to spread the paint and one time we only painted with a pallet knife and no paint brush! This is the most amazing experience I have ever had and I must thank Anton, the most amazing art teacher. I love the slogan, Art No Boundaries.
Thank you Anton for giving me quite an experience of art at The Milestone School that I will never forget!

My Experience
My experience with Anton is amazing. He really opened up the artistic part of my mind. Anton, me, the friends I have, work hard to make detailed abstracts. I learned that abstract is literally impossible to copy the exact same way. Anton is the coolest and only art teacher I’ve ever had. He inspired me to create art.
I’ve used many different tools over the years I’ve been with him. For example, the pallet knife, the skinny brush and what I like to call the sumo brush. There are two types of pallet knives a round and a flat knife. The flat one is mostly for getting corners. The round is for scraping. A skinny brush is for getting skinny lines. A sumo brush is for getting open spaces. Oh and I forgot the charcoal. It gets you dirty. It’s fun.
Anton introduced me to earth and canvases. Canvases are the best and there bigger. Earth gives a weird texture and is cool at the same time. Once again, Anton is the coolest....Art!

Indescribable
Art No Boundaries is absolutely the most amazing art class in the world. It allowed me to express myself through art. But what makes Art No Boundaries the best, is our fantastic art teacher, Anton. He inspired and encouraged me to always keep on going and to think the Impossible!
Through these past 3 years, we’ve always taken a step forward! We went from regular paint brushes, to pallet knives, to charcoal and more. We’ve experienced a lot over the past few years.
One of my favorite experiences was using a canvas for the first time. We also got to use a different kind of paint, not the “kiddie paint” that we used to use. Using the canvas was different from using a piece of paper. The canvas is rougher and the paper is thinner.
Another thing I like about Art No Boundaries is that sometimes when we’re painting we listen to jazz. Basically I love everything about Art No Boundaries and it will always be my favorite art class.

Art With Anton
With Anton art is an activity that I look forward to all week. Art No Boundaries actually has no boundaries. Other places or schools I go to, Art will have boundaries. I will be judged on how good or bad my art is. That is why I am going to miss The Milestone School, Art and our classes.
The difference between 4th grade art with Anton and 2nd grade is that we are more advanced. Anton has taught me that no one else’s art is better than yours and ours is not better than anyone elses.
Through the many years of painting with Anton, my favorite parts are painting on canvases and sketching with the pencil and charcoal. I love art and Anton helped me be able to say that proudly.

My Experience With Anton
Anton is a fun, loving, energetic and kind man. I met Anton when I was 8 years old in second grade. That was the year I started art. In the first art class we had to write about 2 paintings Anton had painted. After we were finished writing , we’d read our writing aloud to the class. In the rest of the classes, we would paint and write about our paintings.
We did this in 2nd and 3rd grade and this year, we also listened to jazzy music while we painted.
This year we used real paint instead of kiddie paint and painted on canvas.
Anton will always be my friend and is the best art teacher in the world.

I had a great experience with my favorite art teacher Mr. Anton
He mainly works with Art No Boundaries. We work with things such as earth, pallet knives and sketching. My favorite was using earth. Earth puts texture on your paint. A pallet knife helps you scrape your painting.
I love Art No Boundaries and I will never forget Mr. Anton.
