Welcome to my website!

I am Professor of Economics at the Bristol Business School, University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol, UK. 

My research revolves around the broad themes of migration, well-being and, more recently, tourism. I am an applied (micro)economist and work primarily on the post-socialist countries of Central and Eastern Europe. 

I am a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA), Bonn, Germany, and a Subject Editor (Transition and Emerging Economies) of the IZA World of Labor.  I am also a member of the UWE Global Migration Network, which I led from 2018 to 2023.
