Two Headed Serpent After the Great Flood, Acrylic painting, 24"x36", NFS
This idea originated when I was on a hike at Buntzen Lake in Anmore B.C. There is a native legend describing how the lake was formed after the great flood. There is a sketch of a giant two headed serpent spanning Burrard inlet when the flood waters receded. I thought of God's promise to Noah after the great flood, that is that there would never be a world wide flood again. This was marked by a rainbow. I thought perhaps the natives mistook this for a serpent. I painted it so that the rainbow ends would shine on rocks and trees to look like serpent heads. The view of Burrard Inlet is from above Admiralty point looking west toward Georgia Straight and Indian Arm leading off to the right. I did an earlier version of this painting in Oils and gave it to the Burrard Indian band to hang in their office.
Nativity, Oil Painting, 20x24, NFS
The first of a series of paintings inspired by photos of the moon. In 1985 I became a Catholic. prior to my decision I received guidance from the holy spirit which prompted me to create these paintings based on photographs of the moon. This depicts the nativity coinciding with the holy family celebrating Hannuka as shown by a seven branch menorah. It also includes a priest on the left and a nun on the right.

The idea for the Star and Angels came to me from looking at the lunar crater Tycho.
The Last Judgement, Oil on Canvas, 60"x 60", NFS
The entire Moon was used for inspiration for this, rather than a full moon it is the composite of two halves of the moon. Jesus is on the cross with paradise on his right and hell to his left and below, with Satan show as a man, beast, and serpent. at the lower right is Moses standing at the Red Sea with the flood waters.
