Posing with the Specialist Team at Sojourner Truth Academy in Minneapolis, MN
Acrylic painting of jewel corn for Thanksgiving at my home in Frogtown
My hometown is Columbus, NE, and I am currently residing in Saint Paul, MN. In my free time I enjoy time outdoors, make art, act, participate in SCA events with an English longbow, and play many different games including Dungeons and Dragons. I studied my favorite subject in college by going to study abroad in Greece, attending art history classes, being a museum docent, working at summer camps, and making all sorts of Art like Photography, Sculpture, Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, and Printmaking. After all this learning, I decided I wanted to teach others about the wide world of art.
I attended Central Community college in my hometown enjoying performing music and theatre as well as studying art and transferred to a 4 year university. I graduated from the Fine Art Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2011. I moved to Colorado in 2015 to attend Metropolitan State University. I completed the Art Education program and student teaching at Alicia Sanchez Elementary in Boulder, CO. I have worked at Denver Public Schools and Jefferson County Public Schools in Colorado for a total of 7 years, and Sojourner Truth and Saint Paul Public Schools for 2 years. I have a short-call substitute and Visual Arts k-12 license in Minnesota, have been substituting and full time in art classrooms regularly, and I am looking for a summer job and employment for the 2024-2025 school year.
