Situación profesional actual

Actualmente soy investigador senior del Institut de Recerca Vall d'Hebron, que está integrado dentro del Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron de Barcelona. Este puesto lo conseguí gracias a la concesión de un Contrato Miguel Servet (antiguamente llamados FIS). Estos contratos, puestos en marcha por parte del Ministerio de Sanidad y Consumo en 1998, corresponden a la convocatoria de una serie de ayudas que pretendían incorporar investigadores de calidad a los grupos de investigación pertenecientes al Sistema Nacional de Salud. Dichas ayudas, denominadas "Ayudas para contratos de Investigadores en el Sistema Nacional de Salud", tienen una duración de 6 años, con una evaluación intermedia a los 3 años. Al finalizar el período de 6 años, pasa a ser la Comunidad Autonoma correspondiente la que se encarga, mediante un convenio específico, de establecer el programa de estabilización adecuado. En mi caso concreto, se me concedió este contrato en la convocatoria de 1999, aunque, por circunstancias que no vienen al caso, no me incorporé a mi puesto de trabajo hasta julio del 2001. Desde el año 2007 mi contrato ha sido definitivamente estabilizado.

Realizo mi labor investigadora dentro del Laboratorio de Cardiología Experimental, perteneciente al Institut de Recerca, y así mismo, integrado dentro del Servicio de Cardiología del Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron.
