(24 April 2010) I'm a member of the Queens, New York on Facebook and posted the following response to a question:

Interesting quote: "why do people sacrifice individual thinking for group thinking?" makes me think - and here is my thoughts about it.

As today is the 95th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, victims of the 1st Genocide of the 20th Century - there are times you have to think global, rather than individual. If you are too wrapped up with your own needs, perhaps there is a major threat for the collective of individuals that needs immediate attention, instead of just your own. http://genocide-museum.am/eng/

Therefore taking that in mind, since some crimes of mass murder/genocide go unpunished, many others follow. One of the latest being Darfur in our own times, just to give an example. That's why the United Nations was born after WWII and the core if it's mission is it's various Peacekeeping Missions (besides tackling everyday various global and humanitarian issues). So there are many soldiers from various countries that are part of the Peacekeepers. Which brings to the point of those who think about peacemaking would rather join the Peacekeepers, a group that thinks like them to help out those in need. Here is the link to the UN Peacekeeping:...
