Meeting of the AHA - March 20, 2013
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 P.M. by Richard Murray, in the John F. Cusack Board Room, located at 4 Winslow Street, Arlington, MA.

Fidelity House Appreciation Night
VOTED
Upon a motion made by Mrs. James and seconded by Mr. Brosnan it was unanimously voted in favor to purchase tickets for the Fidelity House Appreciation Night.
Chapter 689-2
Mr. Griffin said that this is planned for Chestnut Manor. The 689 is a group home for the Developmentally Disabled. DHCD is still talking about whose Bond Cap they want to put it under. It is still on hold. Mr. Griffin will talk to Roberta Strongen.
Labor and Work Development Labor Rates

Upon a motion made by Mr. Mitropoulos and seconded by Mrs. James it was unanimously voted in favor to accept the Labor and Work Development Labor Rates to Apply from April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014. Electrician $34.82
Groundskeeper/Custodian $23.09

DHCD Contract Renewal
VOTED
Upon a motion made by Mr. Brosnan and seconded by Mr. Talanian it was unanimously voted in favor to accept the DHCD MRVP Contract Renewal.
DHCD Subsidy Agreement Renewal
VOTED
Upon a motion made by Mr. Brosnan and seconded by Mrs. James it was unanimously voted in favor to accept the DHCD Subsidy Agreement Renewal
Write Off as of 9/30/2012
Mr. Griffin said we send these to a collection agency and they try to recover lost rent payments.
Mr. Greco explained what happens when someone hasn’t reported income. He also explained pre-paid rents.

Upon a motion made by Mr. Mitropoulos and seconded by Mrs. James it was unanimously voted in favor to write off $11,925.00 for the 667 program.
VOTED
Upon a motion made by Mr. Mitropoulos and seconded by Mrs. James it was unanimously voted in favor to write off $10,802.53 for the 200 program.
Grievance Hearing Office
Mr. Griffin said that Teresa Walsh was on the Grievance panel along with Tim Buckley and Joe Daly. He explained what happens in a private hearing and how the tenant files for a grievance hearing. We need a Member.

Upon a motion made by Mr. Mitropoulos and seconded by Mr. Talanian it was unanimously voted in favor to appoint Mr. Brosnan as the Grievance Member and Mrs. James as the alternate for the Grievance Panel.
Minutes for February 20, 2013

Upon a motion made by Mr. Mitropoulos and seconded Mr. Talanian it was unanimously voted in favor to accept the amended minutes for February 20, 2013.
Personnel Policy
Mr. Griffin said there are not updates. We are still working on it.

Old Business
Mr. Murray asked how the CDBG funds went.
Mr. Griffin said he hasn’t heard anything.
Mr. Brosnan said that we should send a letter of congratulations to Mary Maher for the award that she is receiving from the Edinburg Center to be put in her file.
Mr. Griffin said that on Monday, Channel 4 will be up at Drake Village with the Sheriff’s Department. The inmates did all the chair rails and the painting. They are coming to do a story on how the Sheriff’s Department has saved the Arlington Housing Authority money.
Mr. Murray said to make sure that we appreciate the Sheriff to have the inmates come in and help.

Upon a motion made by Mr. Mitropoulos and seconded by Mrs. James it was unanimously voted to adjourn the meeting at 8:50PM.
