History of the Robbins Library Monday Night Book Group

The Robbins Library Book Discussion Group was founded as a library program in 1994 by library volunteer Peter Glass. For many years it was the only book discussion group at the library. This group has been meeting monthly ever since its first meeting on January 10, 1994.  In 1996 Ann Honeycutt took over the role of volunteer facilitator (until her departure in 2015). Since then, Therese Henderson has been leading the group. We are the longest-running book group at the Robbins Library.  At the start of the  COVID pandemic in March 2020 we switched to an online Zoom format, then switched a couple years later to a "hybrid" format where people could attend at the library or online. In October 2024 we switched back to a purely in-person format for meetings. In September 2025 we changed the name to "Monday Night Book Group" to reflect the fact that there are now many other book groups at the library.
