The Econs is a new initiative to bring students and faculty together around Economics beyond the classroom. Members of The Econs will serve as ambassadors of Economics on campus and in the community, helping to represent our Department at events, high school visits, and outreach activities.
The group will also create opportunities for connection - through talks, workshops, and student–faculty activities - that showcase the value and relevance of Economics. By joining The Econs, students will not only strengthen their leadership and communication skills but also play a key role in promoting our programs and building a stronger Economics community.
The Econs logo reflects this spirit. Its organic, tree-like forms suggest vitality, growth, and collective development, while the triangular base conveys direction and ascent. Look closely, and you’ll see that the flowing shapes also spell out ECONS - a reminder that our identity is rooted in both creativity and collaboration..
Econ+ is an outreach program provided by the Department of Economics, University of Windsor, designed to attract high school students into the economics field through an interactive set of economics activities and presentations. As part of this new initiative, Econ+ visits grade 11 and 12 Economics and Business classes where we discuss broader themes such as "What is Economics?", "Why Study Economics?", and "Economic Issues." Additionally, we cover a topic typically included in the curriculum and provide an overview of the University of Windsor, showcasing the opportunities and resources available for future economics students.

I represent the Department of Economics in the University of Windsor Science Academy Program (2022, 2024, 2025), a free outreach program for grade 11 students designed to engage them in scientific activities at the University of Windsor. Students from the region are selected to attend the Faculty of Science at the University of Windsor over a one week period and participate in lectures, hands-on laboratory exercises and research lab tours within each department in the Faculty of Science. This program provides opportunities for local students to explore the various science programs offered at the University of Windsor, meet faculty and staff, and engage with other science students.
I am designing a course that offers a comprehensive introduction to key economic concepts, tailored to undergraduate students of all programs (except Economics and Business majors). Over a 12-week term, students will learn fundamental economic principles and their real-world applications, guided by a unique alphabetical approach. Each week, we will explore two letters, covering definitions, relevant data, and practical examples to illustrate each concept. From understanding basic economic terms to current economic issues, this introductory course aims to develop students' analytical thinking and broaden their understanding of how economic forces shape our world.
