Andrew P. Sabelhaus

Andrew P. Sabelhaus is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Boston University.

My research group at BU is the Soft Robotics Control (SRC) Lab. We integrate artificial intelligence into robots built from soft materials. See my profile on our website for more information about me.

I was previously a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Soft Machines Lab in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, through the Intelligence Community (IC) Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program.

I completed my PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2019 at the University of California, Berkeley. At Berkeley, I worked with Prof. Alice Agogino in the Berkeley Emergent Space Tensegrities Lab. I was also fortunate enough to work with the Intelligent Systems Division and Intelligent Robotics Group at NASA Ames Research Center as part of my NASA Space Technology Research Fellowship.

Check out the SRC Lab Twitter for interesting soft robot videos!
