TESTING INVESTIGATION: ROTATIONAL MOTION
GIVEN: Assorted PVC materials that will be used to assemble a rotational device.
Pulley, hanger, assorted masses, spring scale and meterstick
TASK: Determine the rotational inertia of the apparatus by three methods.
POSTER: Multiple representations should include force diagrams, mathematical derivation of the rotational inertia and a graphical representation of acquired data.
EXTENSION: Modify the apparatus to qualitatively investigate factors that affect rotational inertia of the rotating arms.

Essential Knowledge 3.F.2: The presence of a net torque along any axis will cause a rigid system to change its rotational motion or an object to change its rotational motion about that axis. The direction of the vector representing the torque can be determined by a right hand rule.
