Biography

Dr. Ick-Jae Yoon received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea in 2003 and 2005 respectively, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas, Austin, TX, USA in 2012, all in Electrical Engineering. He joined the faculty of Chungnam National University (CNU, 충남대학교), Daejeon, Korea in September 2014 and is currently a Professor of Electrical Engineering. From 2012 to 2014, he was with the Electromagnetic Systems group of the Electrical Engineering Department at Technical University of Denmark (DTU, 덴마크공대), Lyngby, DK as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow and an Assistant Professor. From 2005 to 2008, he worked as a Research Engineer at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT, 삼성종합기술원) of Samsung Electronics, Co., Yongin, Korea. 

Dr. Yoon's current research focuses on applied electromagnetics including antennas for IoT and military applications, 3D printed high-frequency devices, high power microwave (HPM) system, wireless biotelemetry system, EMI/EMC problems from electric motors of E-vehicles and theoretical methods for electromagnetics. He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed technical publications and holds 9 U.S. patents in antennas and wireless communication areas. Dr. Yoon received the H.C. Ørsted Post-doctoral Fellowship from DTU in 2012 and is a Marie Curie Alumnus. He is a senior member of IEEE [link].
