2022 Sweeney Park CleanUp
Outstanding job by Hibernian brothers Sam Tower, Charlie Reynolds, Denny Walsh and Brian Cronin in the annual Hibernian Sweeney Park clean up.
From Ferry to Walker Streets the sidewalk in front of the Sweeney Monument was swept, pushed and wheelbarrowed clean of a few hundred pounds of sand, crumbled asphalt and other debris.
The monument and area surrounding looks a hell of a lot better because of your efforts.
Nicely done, lads.
Efforts led by brother Sean Markey.
2013 Sweeney Park CleanUp
For the past few years members of this division have given their time to that area, and rightly so. Henry J. Sweeney, along with being the first KIA from Manchester in World War I, was also Irish-American, the son of immigrants. The Henry J. Sweeney, Post #2, American Legion, has also opened their doors to us and the bond is strong. All that is our attention to that area is because of the efforts of brother Bill Biser, whose work in having the bust of Sweeney renovated and looking as outstanding as it does is because of him. A nod of the cap to you, Bill.
We also note, and thank with deep appreciation, the following brothers who over the years have given their time to Sweeney Park:
Dave Walsh Scott McQuillen (and family)
Skip Hebert Ken Robinson Jr. (and family)
Kevin Sheehan Gerry Holleran
Whiff Madden Jim Walsh
Chris Provost (and family) Patrick Joyce
James Madden Jared Provost
