The major skills needed to make UNIQ a successful project are gathered in this consortium: fabrication (C2N), theory (MPQ), linear & nonlinear optical experiments (C2N & LKB), and a solid expertise in experimental quantum optics (LKB).
Participants: A. Giacomotti (CNRS, coordinator), F. Raineri (Paris 7), K. Bencheikh (CNRS), A. Levenson (CNRS) and M. Marconi (Post-doc). C2N is an internationally recognized leader in III-V semiconductor photonic crystal cavities for nonlinear and active nanophotonics.
Alejandro M. Giacomotti (CR1). Tenured researcher at LPN since 2007. His domain of research is nonlinear nanophotonics. Among his main contributions are the first demonstrations of excitability in photonic crystal resonators (2006), as well as the recent achievement of spontaneous symmetry breaking in coupled photonic crystal nanocavities (2015). Since 2007 he has been involved in many collaborative research projects on nonlinear nanophotonics in France, as well as in international projects; he currently manages the LPN partner in the ANR “OptiRoc” that will end in 2016.
Participants: A. Bramati (Paris 6), Q. Glorieux (Paris 6), E. Giacobino (CNRS), R. Boddeda (Post-doc). The LKB team has strong and worldwide-recognized expertise in generation and characterization of non-classical states of light, quantum correlations, atom based quantum memories, spectroscopy of single nanoparticles and microcavity-polariton quantum fluids and devices.
Alberto Bramati (PRCE1), Laboratoire Kastler Brossel, Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Ecole Normale Supérieure et C.N.R.S. Research fields: Laser Physics, Atomic Physics, Quantum Optics, Nano-photonics, single photon sources, semiconductor nanocrystals, quantum dots, exciton-polariton physics, polariton quantum fluids.
Participants: C. Ciuti (Paris 7). The group “Théorie” is a leading actor on the theory of strongly correlated open systems, in particular photonic and polaritonic systems.
Cristiano Ciuti (PR1). Professor at Université Paris Diderot depuis 2006 (PR1 since 2012), member of laboratory Matériaux et Phénomènes Quantiques (UMR 7162), leader of Equipe THEORIE
