Annika Michelson

Annika Michelson, lecturer in agri-environmental and biodiversity related subjects at Häme University of Applied Sciences, Finland. I have been a teacher since 1996 at HAMK University of Applied Sciences. Since 2000 I am an eLearning teacher, living in Estonia but working with students at Häme University of Applied Sciences in Finland.

My goal is to make applied research that farmers themselves can carry out at their own farm lands. I use traditional methods in cultivation and pasturing. My field research area is at Kiltsi Meadow, Kiltsi village, Väike-Maarja municipal, Lääne-Virumaa county in Estonia. I was keeping Estonian native sheep 2005-2013. I do inventory work among landraces and native cultivars. Since 2014 we have a grain trials going on at HAMK Mustiala. I am interested in traditional animal keeping, pasture building methods and cultivars at farms.
